2 Day Ausangate Pacchanta Homestay Tour + The Ausangate 7 Lakes Hike

If you are looking for a more real experience in a remote community, then the experiential tourism in the community of Pacchanta 2D excursion is a great opportunity for those interested in spending a bit of quality time learning about the traditional Andean lifestyle! Before head for the 7 Lagoons Ausangate Trek 1 Day

Pacchanta is a lovely, small Andean community located in the foothills of the snow-capped “Ausangate”, at an altitude of 4200 meters above sea level. It is reached by the new South interoceanic highway and turning off on a motorized trail, in about 3 hours, leaving Cusco; where community members still wear traditional dress.

Its inhabitants are dedicated to the breeding of alpacas and the cultivation of native tubers, and all are expert weavers. With the fiber of the alpaca, they prepare their clothing and tools, and use the meat as a source of protein. Native potatoes, fresh or traditionally turned into chuno and moraya, provide the carbohydrates they need to fight off the cold and physical strain.

The men and women of Pacchanta preserve their cultural identity and traditional way of life, which makes them representatives of the Andean culture. During your stay in the community, we will discover the magic of the snow-capped mountains and the warmth of its inhabitants, who proudly and happily share their lives and traditions with you.

Your participation as a visitor will directly benefit the people who interact with you in their daily work; and indirectly, you will be motivating the conservation of the environment, its native biodiversity in wild flora and fauna and the recovery of traditional arts and techniques, which reinforces the identity of the people and provides different alternatives for sustainable development.
