Cusco Weather has two well-defined seasons during the year. These are distinguished in Rain and Drought.
The climate of Cusco is usually dry and temperate. The seasons are divided in the following months of the year:
April – October: Dry Season. By day you will find a sunny atmosphere, refreshing towards the afternoon and reaching very cold temperatures during the night. The average climate is 13 ° C, while at night it can reach temperatures below 0 ° C.
Although the sun generates a pleasant temperature during the day, we recommend sheltering with several clothes, since in the shade it refreshes. This way you can go regulating your coat as you feel more or less cold.
We remember that this station corresponds to the high season in Cusco and to the months that precede and follow it.
Mid October – March: Rainy season. Although the average temperature is 12 ° C, sunny days reach 20 ° C. However, the storms are accompanied by cold mountain winds.
Although this season marks the low season, many tourists arrive to Cusco to visit its tourist attractions taking advantage of the smallest amount of tourism. However, if you are going to choose to travel on these dates you need to know that being very rainy days, especially in the mountains, roads can be blocked by effects of the same climatic factor.
When the rains are not abundant and do not cause blockages in the places that you planned to visit, their excursions, despite having a little fog, are very pleasant and the fact that there is not so much tourism facilitates a greater connection with nature, its Aromas, sound and energy.
