Detailed Itineary

After a satisfying breakfast provided by your hotel, your professional tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation in the historic center of Cusco at 7:00am.

Then, we’ll embark on a scenic 45-minute journey through the breathtaking Andean landscape until you arrive to the ancient town of Chinchero, a small rustic town with a long tradition of textile weaving. See various textiles woven using traditional Incan techniques and learn about traditional weaving techniques from local artisans.

• Chinchero is the perfect place to discover ancient Andean weaving techniques. Learn about the use of natural fibers and dyes extracted from local plants and minerals.

Next, we will travel in our private transport to Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca town (in the Sacred Valley) is a must-see during your Peru journey. At Ollantaytambo, we’ll uncover the secrets of the Ollantaytambo Inca living town, a well-preserved example of Inca urban planning.

• Here, we can climb to the top of the Inca fortress and look down on the village below. The ruins themselves boast many features of interest, including old Inca stonework, steep stairways, fortified walls, lookouts, and storage rooms.

After exploring the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo with your private guide, make your way to Urubamba, the capital of the Sacred Valley, for a buffet lunch (not include).

Following lunch, immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Andes as we explore the famous Maras Salt Mines, also known as Salinas de Maras. Here, you will see over 3000 of salt pools fed by an underground spring that is truly remarkable. This site was once an important trade center during the Inca Empire and is still in use today.

Locals direct saltwater from a spring named Qoripujio into man-made wells. Through solar evaporation, the water dissipates, leaving behind salt deposits that are harvested and later taken to market for sale. By the way, the Maras salt is recognized worldwide as being perfect for grills and barbecues.

Moving on, venture to the magnificent ruins at Moray, an impressive Inca experimental farm. where you’ll be fascinated by a series of circular terraces, in the form of rings, that go into the earth’s deeps. These circular terraces were used as an Incan laboratory to acclimatize crops. They sowed a specific type of seed in each circular terrace, from the smallest and deepest ring to the largest, to see the quality of the harvest they obtained.

Finally, we’ll return to Cusco for a deserved rest, where you can take a relaxing shower or, maybe, enjoy a fantastic dinner on our own. The tour usually ends at your hotel in Cusco around 6:00pm
