Our amazing full-day tour to Uros Island and Taquile on Lake Titicaca begins at 6:30am with a private transfer from your hotel in the tourist area of downtown Puno to the Port of Puno.

Then, we will board a motorboat to the famous Floating Islands of the Uros, located approximately 35-40 minutes by boat from the port. These islands, built from totora (an aquatic plant), are home to the Uro community, one of the oldest cultures in the region.

Once we are on the floating islands of the Uros, we will have the opportunity to explore the island and learn more about the life of the local inhabitants who have been preserving the technique of weaving the artificial islands since remote times. Our expert guide will share information about the history and traditions of the Uros, who live uniquely on these floating islands. You will also learn about how the Uros people build their home islands.

After the explanation, you will have free time to walk around the island, take photos, and if you wish, interact with the local families as well as ride on traditional reed boats and visit other Uros floating islands. The visit to the islands lasts approximately 1 hour.

After that, we will continue our adventure towards Taquile Island, located about two hours by boat. Upon arrival, we will take a short hike following the stone pathway to reach the islands’ village.
