Our local private guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby in Cusco and set off in our private transport to the majestic Inca site, Sacsayhuaman – a wonderful representation of Inca architecture. There, after passing through a Sacsayhuaman checkpoint, we start our private guided tour at the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman.

The wonderful archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman is an iconic place and an imposing jewel of pre-Hispanic engineering that boast massive monolithic stones fitted together perfectly, with its impressive Inca architecture – placed tightly together, creating a fortress-like structure.

As you walk around with your guide, you’ll be blown away by admiring the precision used of the Inca’s engineering ingenuity, which was way ahead of its time and still a mystery in many ways today. In addition, you will also be impressed by seeing different shapes and sizes of the stones, plazas, altars, doorways, steps, walls, more walls, terraces, towers, aqueducts, caves, roaming llamas. Simply put, the fortress is monumental!

You’ll then have the chance to stop at a fantastic lookout point to witness a wonderful view over Cusco city and the Andean Mountain’s beauty, where you can get nice photos. After taking some photos and enjoying the majestic views of the city.

Following, you’ll continue exploring the archaeological sites of Q’enqo, where you’ll see the ancient temple of Puma and its sacrificial altar, and then continue to Puca Pucara, a site of military ruins that was once used for defense of the Inca Empire. Next visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, where a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls may have been a spa resort of wealthy Incans.

After a great exploration of the four Incan ruins that are found around the Cusco city and admiring the surrounding landscape, we’ll keep traveling through the Peruvian mountains to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and stop at “Mirador Del Valle Sagrado.” This lookout over the Sacred Valley or Urubamba Valley will provide you with the perfect opportunity to photograph the Andean mountain range and the Sacred Urubamba river together.

  • You can also choose to visit the Awana Kancha Alpaca Farm or the Small Animal Sanctuary Zoo of Cochahuasi! Where you will be able to see a remarkable number of rescued native animals, birds and mammals of the Andean world; such as the spectacled bear, the puma, and the condor which is considered the second biggest bird on the planet, and the most beautiful camelids live in the Peruvian Andes such as vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas, besides more animals from different regions. If would you like to visit it, just let your guide know! For this option, you only have to pay the entrance fee of s/20 per person (about US$7) at the time of entry.

We’ll soon arrive at the Inca Village of Pisac to enjoy lunch (not included) at one of the local restaurants in the town. Following lunch, we will visit its colorful market and archaeological site. Places to explore on our 1 day Sacsayhuaman and Pisac Day Tour

The archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman – the iconic and impressive archaeological complex of the ancient empire, which sits atop a hill overlooking the Inca’s former capital city, most academics agree that Sacsayhuamán was an important military or ceremonial site at the time of the Incas. The ruins date back to the time of Pachacutec, the Inca ruler who brought the Inca Empire to its climax around AD 1200. The most remarkable characteristic of the site is its megalithic architecture, with the largest stones standing 8.5 meters (28 feet) and weighing 330,000 kilograms (361 tons).

Q´enqo archeological complex – It is a place where the Incas worshiped their gods, consisting of a large carved outcrop overlooking a raised platform in a semi-circular plaza, and a square structure. What is left today of complex of Q’enqo are carved rocks that couldn´t be destroyed by the Spanish; there is little left of the paths and aqueducts, as well as of the enclosures, the deposits or the liturgical baths, besides the great layer of gold that illuminated the whole place.

Archaeological Center of Puka Pukara – it was probably a stronghold for the Inca capital city protection, as well as a kind of storage for quite a few agricultural products. Also, the traditional information show that, when the Inca was about to visit the Baths of Tambomachay, the formidable group of soldiers, dancers and others stayed in Puka Pukara, that represented the quarters and “tambo” (resting place).

Inca archaeological site of Tambomachay – this site was popularly known as the “Inca’s Baths”. Researchers believe Tambomachay was an important center of worship of water. It is an archaeological complex made up of well-crafted canals, walls and windows which show the Incas’ extraordinary architectural talents and their in-depth knowledge of hydraulics.

The archaeological site of Pisac – the largest fortress city of the Incas in the Sacred Valley and one of the largest of ancient America, is well-known for agricultural terracing that rise from the bottom of the mountain to the top in a harmonious way, constitute a stupendous ruin complex of the finest Inca stonework, with many attendant buildings, baths and storehouses, exceptional flights of terracing, and quantities of tombs, all well defended by walls, gates and towers. The complex seems to feature some example of almost everything the Incas did in terms of architecture; with religious, administrative and residential constructions.

The Inca Village of Pisac – is a charming village, situated at the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Peru, is well-known for its traditional colourful market, where offers the visitors the opportunity to buy or just watch a lot of Indian handmade products by local craftsmen or neighboring communities. Also, it is famous for hosting the Inca archaeological site of the same name. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays are made craft fairs in the main square where all the artisans participate and shows its beautiful works, and its alive culture intact.
