After being picked up at your hotel in Urubamba at 8:00 am, you’ll embark on a journey through the Sacred Valley in the Peruvian Andes and drive in a private van to picturesque town of Ollantaytambo with your private tour guide.

At Ollantaytambo town, enjoy a guided tour of its well-preserved archaeological site, which showcases the architectural prowess of the Incas, with intricate stone terraces, ceremonial temples and the impressive Temple of the Sun.

You will then continue through the valley to visit the Moray archeological site, which boasts a series of circular terraces, burrowed into the earth like a huge amphitheater. The complex is believed to have served as an elaborate agricultural laboratory for the Incas.

Continuing your tour through the Sacred Valley, you will go towards these surreal salt ponds, known as Maras Salt Mines; where you’ll discover more than 3000 ancient Inca Maras salt ponds carved by the Incas, which was the main provider salt center to Cusco and it’s still even today for many communities around and the Sacred Valley.

Upon the conclusion of your tour, you will travel to visit Chinchero a quaint village of great weavers with a lovely XVII colonial church and some Incan archeological remains. Finishing this tour, you will drive to Cusco or back to your hotel and be dropped at your hotel

We pick you up from your hotel in Urubamba at 8:00 am and lead you to the western side of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to explore Maras Salt Mines and Moray Ruins, located around the town of Maras in Peru.

During your journey, enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and snow-capped peaks of the Andes while driving in a comfortable van until you reach the circular terraces of Moray.

In the archaeological complex of Moray, you will learn about Moray’s story and what’s behind this experimental agricultural research center with different-height platforms of the ancient civilization, because of this place, today we are able to have over 3000 sorts of potatoes and other plants.

We continue the journey toward the Salt mines of Maras, created by the water coming down from the Qaqa Wiñay Mountain. Here you will learn about the process by which this product is created in its 3,000 wells. The pink salt of Maras is one of its most precious derivatives.

After enjoying a guided tour of Maras Salt Mines and Moray with a local expert guide, we return to the Urubamba town to enjoy lunch (not included) in a local restaurant.

Following lunch, we drive through the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas to the archeological complex of Pisac, where you’ll enjoy the beautiful views across the valley and around while learning the history of the Inca Empire from your private guide.

After exploring the splendid Inca ruins of Pisac located on the top of an important mountain in the Sacred Valley. We’ll head back to Pisac town to visit its colorful market (optional), where we can browse the array of local artisan work and other souvenirs.

At the end of the tour of the fascinating ruins of Moray, Maras Salt Mines, and Pisac in the Sacred Valley, we will drop you off at your hotel in Urubamba by 5:00pm or in Cusco by 6:30pm.

After being collected from your hotel at 8:00 am, we will drive in our comfortable private van through the heart of the enchanting Sacred Valley over one hour to our first stop, the local community called Pisac.

In Pisac you will be guided through the impressive Inca ruins above the town that offers stunning views of the surrounding valley and then see its massive farming terraces and a great Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs, both from Incan times, you will also witness many examples of original Inca architecture.

After exploring the Inca site, head down to Pisac town, known for its lively local market (though it is open daily). The market is a great place to shop for souvenirs, including textiles, ceramics, and jewelry. You’ll also find plenty of fresh produce, including exotic fruits and vegetables, and street food vendors selling local specialties.

After Pisac you will be driven for 20 minutes to Taray viewpoint, an observation platform that offers breathtaking vistas of the Sacred Valley, the Urubamba River, the farming lands, and the Peruvian Andes. Onward, you will drive to explore the archeological sites of Tambomachay, Q’enqo, Puca Pucará and Sacsayhuaman, which are located just above Cusco City

The next stop will be at Inca archaeological site of Tambomachay also known as El Baño del Inca or the “bath of the Inca,” which boast series of aqueducts, canals, and waterfalls. Then you head to Puka Pukara, a reddish color military fortress, which is built of of large walls, terraces, and staircases.

Continue your tour with a visit to the underground temple of Qenqo, where you can stroll through a labyrinth of impressive rock carvings and tunnels carved into solid rock.

Finally, you finish the tour at Sacsayhuaman, a massive Inca fortress, made up of massive stone walls that were built without the use of mortar by the Incas during the late 15th century; and marvel at the most impressive examples of Inca stonework and engineering.

Your day trip to Pisac (market, Inca ruins) in the Sacred Valley and South Valley of Cusco starts with an 8:00 am pickup from your Urubamba hotel in a private van

Then enjoy a 1 hour and 30 minute drive through the Urubamba Valley, enjoying phenomenal views of the Peruvian Andes, witnessing the picturesque villages of Yucay, Calca and Lamay to the community of Pisac.

Your first stop is at a village in Pisac. Visit a local market that gives you a better idea about life in this area. You can choose to pick up some souvenirs here if you’d like (own expense).

Onward, explore the Inca ruins site that’s here, and see ancient temples, residences, altars, channels, carvings, tunnels, and caves. Afterward, get back in the car for about a 50-minute drive to the pre-Inca site of Pikillacta

At Pikillacta, visit the amazing and unique adobe pre-Inca complex was built by the Wari culture who once dominated the central highland and coastal regions of Peru.

Finally, visit the Inca site of Tipon, which boast an elaborate set of terraces and water channels. It is thought to have been used as one of the most important ceremonial center to worship water.
